Carting (draft work), Rally, Water work, Therapy and Conformation are only some suggestions. We having been doing therapy work with our dogs for awhile and its a great way to spend time with them and truly show off their amazing personalities.
What can I do with my NEWF?
Why RAW?
Our Diet
Flaked or rolled oats soaked overnight. I also boil up crushed barley and crushed, rolled corn. (So for a adult male I would give ¾ pound of oats with ¾ pound of barley and ¼ pound of corn, total weighing 2 pounds.) One raw egg may be added a couple of times a week.
To this you must add:
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable, canola, sunflower, corn or olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons bran (I also add ¼ tsp of ground flax)
  • 1 tsp. wheat germ
  • 1 heaping tsp. bone meal or powdered egg shell
  • 1 tbsp. of 6% MF natural yogurt or cottage cheese
  • ½ a banana (potassium) with peel
  • ½ tsp. of Glucosamine (contains vitamin C, E, and Magnesium) – until age 2
  • 1 tsp. of honey or blackstrap molasses
  • 1 - 3 lbs. of RAW meat (depending on age and weight of the dog)
  • 1 tsp. wheat germ
  • 2 tsp. powdered kelp
  • 2 tsp. alfalfa pellets
  • 2 heaped tablespoon of grated raw carrot (or cabbage, beets, pumpkin, squash), greens, and garlic.
  • 2 tbsp. of bran, to replace the hair and skin of the prey
  • 1 tsp bone meal or powdered egg shell
It's only logical to feed your dog raw, this is what they would eat if they had to hunt for themselves. Of course it's not always possible and in that case a high quality dog food is perfectly fine. A big thing that suprises people that it's actualy cheaper. Most importantly is is a much healthier option
Some of the benefits of raw include:
  • They have more energy
  • Their teeth are cleaner & whiter
  • Their coats are softer and shinier
  • Their stool is smaller
  • Their weight is better maintained
Maybe, that litter may not be for a couple years even if you are on the waiting list. This is very standard for reputable breeders. We ONLY have puppies to better the breed. We can guarantee that when we have a litter and you do get a puppy you are getting one from a breeding that we have done to insure the longivity, temperment, and all around general Newfoundland breed standard. If you want a puppy right away and go to a kennel that has many litters a year, offers you designer coloured newfs, tight lipped, or easy to groom, chances are you have found yourself at a puppy mill. We highly suggest you visit any kennel you are looking to get a puppy from to make sure that the mom and dad are taken care of up to the standard of care that you would want from your future puppy.

When is Your Next
Litter? Will I get a Puppy then?
